Stop Double Texting Her.
Seven texting rules that make her want to reply, with real before and after chats.

Text her like a man with a full life, not a man waiting by his phone. Open with something specific to her, ask one question at a time, match her length and pace, send one message and wait, tease a little, and move to a real plan within a few good days of chatting.
Most guys don't lose her on the date. They lose her in the chat before it. Too many messages, too fast, too boring, too needy. The good news: texting is a skill, and these seven rules fix most of it.
1. Never open with "hi"
"Hi" gives her nothing to reply to, so she has to do all the work. Open with something specific to her: a detail from her profile, the place you met, or the last thing you talked about. Specific tells her you actually paid attention. Want a playful line to adapt? Our pick-up lines list has 100, including Instagram and dating-app openers.
You: hi
You: how are you
Two messages, zero reasons to reply.
You: ok I need a ruling. you said you make the best chai in your building. that is a big claim
Her: it is NOT a claim it is a fact 😤
A callback plus a light challenge. She has something to defend.
2. One question at a time
Five questions in one message feels like a form. Ask one, then actually react to her answer before asking the next. A conversation is a rally, not an interview.
3. Match her length and her pace
If she sends one line, don't send a paragraph. If she replies in an hour, you don't need to reply in ten seconds every time. Matching her energy keeps things balanced; over-giving makes you look like you have nothing else going on.
4. Stop double texting her
This is the big one. When she doesn't reply, the urge is to send another message. "??" "hello" "you there?" Every extra message tells her you are waiting by your phone, and that is the least attractive thing you can show.
You: so are we on for saturday?
You: ??
You: hello?
Three messages, rising panic.
You: so are we on for saturday?
Her: sorry, crazy day! yes 🙌
One message. Then you go live your day. If a full day passes, send one new thing, not a reminder.
The rule: one message, then wait. If a day or more goes by, you can send one fresh message about something new. If that gets nothing too, she has answered you.

5. Tease a little
Nice and polite gets you friend-zoned. A small, playful tease adds tension and shows confidence. Keep it about something light (her chai claim, her music taste, her terrible sense of direction), never about her looks or anything she is insecure about.
6. Move it to a real plan
Texting is how you get the date, not a replacement for it. After a few good days of chatting, when she is asking you questions back, suggest something specific: a day, a place, a reason. Not sure she is interested yet? Run the three flirting tests first.
You: we should hang out sometime
Her: yeah for sure!
'Sometime' means never.
You: ok settle the chai debate in person. thursday, 6pm, that place near the metro?
Her: deal. prepare to lose
Specific, playful, easy to say yes to.
7. End on a high
Don't let every chat drag on until it dies. When the conversation is at its best, wrap it up: "ok I have to run, but this isn't over." She leaves wanting more, and the next chat starts warm.
What to text a girl for the first time
The first message is the hardest, so here are three that work, by where you met:
- On Instagram: reply to a story with something specific. "ok that sunset is unfair. where is that?"
- After getting her number: remind her who you are with the moment you shared. "it's Arjun, from the chai debate. still think you're wrong"
- On a dating app: pick one thing from her profile and ask about it. "you climb? indoor or real rocks?"
Already chatting and not sure how to answer her? See what to reply to a girl.
What to text a girl when she is not replying
Nothing, for at least a day. Then one light message about something new, never "??" or "you there?". If that gets no answer either, stop: no reply is a reply, and chasing only makes it worse.
The short version
- Open with something specific, never just "hi".
- One question at a time, and react to her answers.
- Match her length and pace.
- One message, then wait. No "??".
- Tease lightly, never about her looks.
- Turn good chats into a specific plan.
- Leave while it's fun.
Frequently asked questions
How long should I wait to text her back?
There is no magic number. Reply when you actually see it and have something to say. The rule that matters is pace: do not reply in two seconds every time if she takes two hours.
Is double texting always bad?
Two messages in a row once is fine. Chasing a girl who has not replied with three or four messages is what kills attraction. If she goes quiet, wait at least a day and send something new, not "??".
What should my first text to a girl be?
Something specific to her: a detail from her profile, the place you met, or a callback to what you talked about. Anything is better than "hi" or "hey" on its own.
When should I ask her out over text?
Once the chat has been good for a few days and she is asking you questions back. Make it a specific plan with a day and a place, not "we should hang out sometime".
What to text a girl when she is not replying?
Nothing for at least a day. Then one light message about something new, never "??". If that gets no reply either, stop: no reply is a reply.
